Startup India

“Startup India” is an initiative launched by the Government of India in January 2016 to foster entrepreneurship and promote the growth of startups in the country. The program aims to create a conducive ecosystem for startups by providing various support measures, incentives, and facilitation mechanisms.

Self-Certification and Compliance:
Startups can self-certify their compliance with certain labor and environmental laws for a specified period. This reduces the regulatory burden and enables startups to focus on their core business activities.

Startup India Hub:
The Startup India Hub serves as a single point of contact for startups to access various resources, support, and guidance. It provides assistance in navigating the startup ecosystem, connecting with investors, accessing funding schemes, and resolving queries related to regulatory compliance.
Startup India Portal:
The official Startup India Portal offers a platform for startups to register and obtain recognition as a “Startup” under the program. Registered startups gain access to a range of benefits, including eligibility for government schemes, tax benefits, and access to networking and collaboration opportunities.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Support:
Startups can access a fast-track mechanism for filing and processing patent applications. The government also bears the cost of patent filing and provides legal assistance in protecting intellectual property.
