Bookkepping

Bookkeeping is the process of recording and organizing financial transactions and activities of a business. It involves maintaining accurate and systematic records of all the financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity. Bookkeeping provides a clear and detailed picture of a company’s financial health and helps in making informed business decisions, tracking cash flow, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Chart of Accounts:
Establish a chart of accounts, which is a categorized list of all the accounts used to record financial transactions. It typically includes categories like assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses. Each account is assigned a unique code or number for easy identification.

Recording Transactions:
Record all financial transactions in the appropriate accounts. This involves tracking income from sales or services, recording expenses for items such as rent, utilities, inventory, salaries, and tracking other financial activities like loans, investments, and payments received or made.
Double-Entry System:
Bookkeeping typically follows the double-entry system, which means that every transaction has two entries. For every debit entry (an increase in an asset or an expense), there must be a corresponding credit entry (a decrease in an asset or an increase in equity or liability), ensuring that the books remain balanced.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure that your bookkeeping records are compliant with tax regulations in your jurisdiction. This includes accurately tracking and reporting income, expenses, and applicable taxes. Maintain proper documentation to support your tax filings.
